Introducing Foster AI’s speaker separation feature

Foster’s AI scribe enables you to finish your notes while you treat. It transcribes your conversations with patients and generates notes at the end of the session

Transcript for a 7 minute session without speaker separation

One of our customers, a mental health provider, mentioned Foster helps them have a transcript of the session to refer back. It helps them prepare for their next session with the patient. They mentioned the transcript can be greatly improved if the individual speakers can be separated in some way.

The video above shows a transcript generated by Foster when we played the audio of Dr. Todd Grande’s narrative therapy role play (“Externalizing the Problem — Excessive Worry”). This roleplay is 7 mins long. A real-life transcript would be much larger than this since a typical therapy session is 45–50 mins long. We saw the need for a cleaner interface to make it easier for our customers to refer back to a transcript.

Creating “Clean” transcripts with speaker separation

We built the speaker separation feature to make the transcripts look clean.

Foster is capable of separating speakers in the transcript even in instances where there are more than two speakers in a room during the session.
